Help us to support our local Riding for the Disabled groups in 2009/2010
Last year we raised £2,500 for Dorset children's hospice Julia's House. Dike & Son's new chosen charity is our local Riding for the Disabled. Now in its 40th anniversary year, the charity supports more than 500 member groups throughout the UK to provide an unforgettable exerience of riding or carriage driving for more than 24,000 children and adults.
We have chosen the local Milton Abbas and Henstridge Groups to support for their fantastic work enabling helping children and adults with disabilities to ride, including the use of Bob the mechanical horse. You can find out more about the groups on our news page.
Here's how you, as a customer, can help:
More than 50 of our suppliers have signed up to the Making a Difference Locally charity, which keeps a running total of what our customers have saved into the kitty for our chosen local good cause. These suppliers will donate anything from 2 pence to 15 pence for every packet sold of, say, dried pasta or cereal.
Products supporting the MADL campaign are marked with a purple smiley house symbol, so watch out for them around the store. For more information about our new charity and how to support the fund-raising campaign, ask in-store or visit the RDA website

Charities benefit from our bins
Unwanted books, CDs, and DVDs and videos can now be recycled in our car park in the big red recycling bin for the British Heart Foundation. And you can put all your tidy and clean items of clothing into our clothes bin to raise money for the Somerset and Dorset Air Ambulance.
