Serving the people of the Blackmore Vale since 1851

Harold Dike first started delivering groceries in Stalbridge by horse and cart in 1851! Now in the hands of his great-great-grandson Andy Dike, we are still in Stalbridge and still proudly independent.

William's Café in-store

William’s Café is named after Andy’s Father, William Dike. It is open from 8am to 4pm Monday to Saturday serving hot breakfast and lunches, as well as lighter bites such as jacket potatoes, paninis and salads, all made from scratch.

We have a wonderful range of tempting cakes, to enjoy with your coffee or tea. We are licensed, so you can enjoy a glass of local cider or beer with your meal.

Making a difference locally

Every time you shop with us you are putting something back into the local community. Choosing certain products in-store triggers a payment from the supplier into our charity fund, Making A Difference Locally (MADL). It may only be pennies, but it soon adds up – since the scheme began in 2008, we have been able to donate almost £80,000 to help local community groups, sports clubs, schools and charities with their fund-raising efforts! If you know of a local good cause that is trying to raise money for a particular project and could do with some help, please write to adam@dikeandson.co.uk with your name and contact details, a little bit about the organisation or group that you are nominating, what they are fund-raising for and how much they need to raise.
