Food

We really care about food. We have been stocking people’s kitchen cupboards and larders in the Blackmore Vale for more than a century. We have seen many food trends and fashions come and go – from war time rations in the forties, the introduction of TV dinners and ready meals in the fifties and sixties, the growing taste for food from around the world towards the latter end of the century to the current demand for freshness and quality.

In fact our customers have never been so demanding – and quite rightly so. With this in mind, we are trying to make sure that much of what we stock is from local sources, is as fresh as possible and is the best quality for the price.

Organic

We are actively seeking out organic lines, from fresh juice and milk to baby food and bread, and our range of organic food will increase in the coming months. We currently stock organic olive oils, ketchup and sauces, cereals and tea bags among many other products, and we have just introduced organic wine.

Fair Trade

We support Fair Trade, and you will find Fair Trade items such as coffee, wine and chocolate on our shelves. Again, we are looking to increase the range.

Gluten free

We sell quite a selection of gluten free products including biscuits, bread, cereals, pasta, pizza bases and gravy. Ask in-store for more details.
