Wines, beers & spirits
What's new:
Welcome to the Lyme Bay Winery! You can now cancel your cross-channel trips in search of Calvados because this West Country company is using Somerset apples to make a very fine cider brandy indeed.
Choose from the rare 15 year-old alchemy at £41.99 down to the three year-old brandy for £20.50. Do please email us to tell us what you think about it (once you have sobered up, of course).
We are also stocking their fabulous fruit wines: try sparkling Elderflower and Strawberry (£12.99); Damson or Blackberry wine (£5.99); or the West Coutry Mead (also £5.99).

Wines
We are known for our jolly good wine department, with more than 260 different wines from around the world – and some stonking special offers.
Ted is our wine manager and what he doesn’t know about wine isn’t worth knowing. He will help you choose perfect match for that special meal or a good gluggable everyday wine.
His picks from the fine wines are a St Emilion for £9 a bottle, a Nuits St Georges for £17 and, in white, a great Pouilly-Fuissé at £13.
For everyday reds, go for the Chilean Santa Monica for £5.99. For white, he recommends the Californian Pinot Grigio at £6.49 from sustainable winemakers Fetzer.
There are also Fair Trade and organic wines to choose from. Just ask Ted if you can’t find what you’re looking for.
Beer and cider
We deal with quite a few local breweries, stocking a wide range of real ales and regional bitters. Hall & Woodhouse is noted for its Organic Stinger – curiously made of stinging nettles hand-picked in Dorset – “the cricket team like it,” Andy says. Cotleigh Brewery makes the extremely popular Williams Tipple, named after William Dike’s favourite bitter.
As you would expect from this part of the country we have an amazingly varied array of ciders, including the celebrated Sheppy's Medium Scrumpy (“nice drop for a barbecue”) plus the Gold Medal vintage and organic ciders. Westons Organic makes it no less than THREE organic ciders on our shelves. (You can see we appreciate the good things in life.)
Spirits
Lots of the usual sorts, as well a quite a few you might not find easily elsewhere, such as Ouzo and Creme de Menthe.
Deliveries
Naturally you can have all of the above delivered to your door, within an eight mile radius of Stalbridge, saving you the hard work. So all you have to do is open it and drink it. What could be better? Call 01963 362204 for details.
