Please cover up, thank you!

Victoria McManus 07/23/20

The new mask regulations come into effect on Friday 24th July 2020. They state that unless exempt, shoppers are required to have a face covering before entering any shop, so we would be most grateful if you could comply.

The exemptions are: young children under the age of 11; not being able to put on, wear or remove a face covering because of a physical or mental illness or impairment, or disability; if putting on, wearing or removing a face covering will cause you severe distress; if you are travelling with or providing assistance to someone who relies on lip reading to communicate; to eat or drink, but only if you need to; to take medication; if a police officer or other official requests you remove your face covering;
if asked to do so by shop staff for the purpose of age identification; if speaking with people who rely on lip reading, facial expressions and clear sound.

The law states that retail staff are not required to wear face coverings (because of the long hours they work), so we are leaving it up to the individual members of our team to decide when and where it is appropriate to wear them.

Please be considerate and respectful of other people and remember to continue to maintain a safe distance. There are hand sanitisers positioned around the store. You can find more information on the Government website www.gov.uk
