Za'atar is a Middle Eastern blend of Thyme, toasted sesame, sumaq and salt.Its use can be traced back for centuries and remains an essential part of the Middle Eastern cuisine. It can be used in a variety of ways including mixed with olive oil and spread on flat breads before baking, or as a rub for meat and vegetables, it's also great added to hummous. Traditionally in Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, it is enjoyed at breakfast on traditional strained yogurt.
